The purpose of eSafe is to help you ensure that your data backups are being performed regularly, stored in a secure environment and available when you require them. To achieve this we place heavy importance on the security of the entire process.
Here are the security measures taken with "Electronic Safe"
  • System Access Both the backup and restore procedures are initiated and controlled by the client software on your computer. At no time does eSafe log into your systems... you log into ours this way we do not require you to configure your network for outside access.
  • Encryption In order to ensure that your data remains visible to only you, we make use of some of the highest levels of encryption available which are excepted for use by the US federal government; DES(8.2), DES(8.3), TDES(Triple-DES), Blowfish(4-448bits) and AES(128-256bit). This way your data is processed to protect it for transmission via the internet and should it somehow get in the hands of someone else, it would not be feasibly practical to try and decrypt it to a state at which it could be viewed. The encryption password or key disk which is required to access the data is chosen, controlled and maintained by the client, at no time can any member of eSafe or its associates view your data.
  • Equipment Our electronic safe servers are purpose built to ensure stability of the data they store using physical redundancy. All servers employ RAID storage technology which makes data loss due to hard drive failure virtually impossible. To further protect the data from corruption due to viruses or other such hazards, the servers do not receive email, share data and are not bridged to any other networks.
  • Network Your data is stored on our servers located behind a firewall with a dedicated internet used by eSafe. All incoming requests for backup or restore are first authorized then routed to less common data ports for transmission. Remote administration of the server is done via a secure terminal server connection to only eSafe staff have access (this does not include our associates).
  • Location Our servers reside within a ULC rated security facility which is manned 24/7 and monitored for security by video surveillance with access restricted to only designated personnel and controlled using visual authentication. The facility is equipped with air conditioning systems and emergency power diesel generator, as well as advanced fire protection and suppression.
